Within the medulla of lymph nodes are plates of lymphocytes, macrophages, and plasma cells. These plates are

called medullary cords (A). Plasma cells that are aligned along the periphery of the cords have migrated from the
cortex to the medulla to enter the medullary sinuses (arrow) and exit the lymph node. The cords also contain post-
capillary venules (arrowhead) through which lymphocytes migrate into the lymph nodes.
